Ocala — On Monday, the City of Ocala said that the Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water.
A whopping 1.5 million gallons was reportedly spilled.
This spill occurred at the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park, located at 2105 NW 21st St.
City officials said, “The water involved in the spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public or surrounding area.”
According to the press release, the spill was caused when a subsurface subsidence formed in Wetland Cell 1.
“Subsurface subsidence is an anticipated component of the park due to the karst topography below ground. They present no danger to the public or the environment,” said city officials.
