Ocala, Florida — The Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the human remains found in the Ocala National Forest on Thursday, March 3, are that of a male.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, they received a tip on Thursday that a body was buried in the Ocala National Forest in an area off of Forest Road 50.
Major Crimes detectives, evidence technicians, the Ocala Police Department, and the Medical Examiner’s Office, responded to the area on Friday. It was at that time officials discovered a body in a shallow grave.
The identity of the male has not been determined and the cause of death is still under investigation.
