Officers then drove to Bailey’s home to investigate his claims. When they arrived, they were horrified. The dog’s ears had been completely sliced off and were sitting on a kitchen counter.
Bailey stated, “I was trying to make the dog look tough and I got carried away.”
According to reports, officers drove the injured puppy to Levy Animal Clinic, where the treating veterinarian, Dr. Robert Bullock, determined the pup would need immediate surgery to prevent the dog from suffering.
Bailey was booked into the Levy County jail and charged with Cruelty to Animals. He was later released on $3,000 bond.
The surgery went well and the dog is excepted to make a full recovery. It has since been placed in foster care.
