Ocala, Florida — A 19-year-old Ocala man was arrested on June 20, 2014, after he intentionally tried to run down a family with his dirt bike.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, along with her four children, were attempting to move their golf cart when Daniel Lincoln came within inches of hitting them as he passed.
The victim told deputies that Lincoln then turned around, “sped-up” and drove directly toward them a second time. The victim stated that Lincoln swerved at the last minute as to avoid hitting the golf cart. The victims said as Lincoln was swerving, he yelled a racial slur at them, according to reports.
Fearing for her children’s safety, the victim drove the golf cart back to her home, according to reports.
Deputies said Lincoln then – on two separate occasions – drove by the victims house while giving her “the bird” and yelling obscenities.
The victim, as well as her children, stated that they were in fear of their lives, according to reports.
Upon questioning, Lincoln stated he did curse at the victims, but did not intend on hitting them with his dirt bike.
According to reports, Lincoln said that he hates the victim because she is always calling the cops every time he rides his dirt bike in the area.
Lincoln was transported to the Marion County jail and charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
He was released on $2,000 bail shortly after his arrest.
